Studying in Manchester with Arden

The Arden University Manchester study centre can be found inside Linley House, close to the city centre, and is equipped with everything you need to spend your on-campus time wisely.

Classrooms are bright and roomy, giving you the chance to set up your device and access online materials while you’re in lessons or make notes on the lectures your tutor delivers. There’s also a large IT suite for anyone who needs to access it.

The library and breakout space can accommodate you for anything you need, whether it’s somewhere to relax during a break or a place to catch up on studies if you’ve been feeling distracted at home.

Our friendly Student Support team can be found just down the corridor from your classroom, and are always happy to open their door to you, should you need someone to talk to about non-academic matters.

The Surrounding Area

With the city centre a fraction of a mile away from our study centre, Manchester really is your oyster! There’s independent shops and restaurants alongside your favourite brands and chains, so why not try something new while you’re in the area?

If you fancy an impressive place to study, Manchester Central Library is open for public use until 8pm Monday to Thursday, and 5pm Friday and Saturday.

Small squares and gardens are scattered around the city for those who appreciate spending time outdoors; for those who prefer the shops, the city’s largest shopping centre, Manchester Arndale, is a little over half a mile away on foot.

Transport to Arden Manchester

There are two National Rail stations close to the study centre: Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Oxford Road. The trains running through these stations provide easy access to many parts of Manchester and the surrounding area, including:

  • Preston: 37 mins
  • Stockport: 37 mins
  • Hadfield: 38 mins
  • Leeds: 46 mins
  • Liverpool: 1 hour, 11 mins

Manchester’s efficient tram network makes our study centre very accessible, with St Peter’s Square tram stop just a five-minute walk away. Here, you can catch trams on six of the seven available lines. Bus routes also reach all four corners of the city and beyond.
