Outreach at Arden

Haj is the Outreach & Student Recruitment Officer here at Arden University. She is from London and was the first in her family to go to university, undertaking a History degree at Sheffield University and an MSc in History of International Relations at London School of Economics and Political Science. Her role involves attending schools, colleges and events to speak to young people about higher education and what they can expect at university. She also organises and runs webinars, manages stakeholder relations and contributes to outreach projects and initiatives. 

Haj is passionate about access to education and believes that everyone should have the tools, resources and opportunities to embark on higher education, if they wish to. In her spare time, Haj enjoys long walks, attending exhibitions and taking care of her indoor plants.

Kate is the Outreach and Student Recruitment Manager here at Arden, and oversees the strategic aims of the team. She is from the Black Country, and has lived there most of her life, expect for a 7 year stint living across the North West. The first in her family to go to university, she graduated from Lancaster University in 2013 with a BA Hons in Politics with International Relations. She has many years of work experience in Higher Education and outreach, starting as a student ambassador 12 years ago, and never looking back! Her role is to drive and meet the strategic aims of the team, as well as support with events and webinars. She is responsible for ensuring that the team is meeting its goals, and serving the community, ably assisted by Haj. 

Kate believes that education should be for everyone, and that higher education can be more accessible and welcoming, especially for those who have never considered it. She looks forward to helping change what Higher Education means for those who feel they have been excluded from it. In her spare time, Kate is an avid reader and crafter, and sings in a community choir every Monday.
