As part of Arden University’s commitment to international opportunities our Head of School of Project Management, Dr Serkan Ceylan, has recently served as a visiting professor in France as part of Audencia’s summer school.
Alongside leading academics from the world’s top universities, Serkan delivered a course between the 7th-11th June, introducing students to the study of Agile Project Management. Students engaged in a variety of activities to understand the importance, challenges, and best practices of project management, allowing them to approach projects from a flexible and holistic point of view and tackle the shortcomings of effective project execution.
Audencia is one of France’s elite Grande École higher education institutions, with campuses in Nantes, Paris, Beijing, Shenzhen and Chengdu, and is globally renowned for its education and research in the fields of business and management. It is consistently ranked in the top 10 business schools in the country.
Serkan joined Arden earlier this year, and has previously taken up visiting Professorships/Lectureships in Germany, Spain, Finland and France.
To date, he has secured over £1,000,000 worth of research and enterprise grants from research bodies such as Research England and Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, as well as securing PhD scholarships from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council and the Economic and Social Research Council.
A published author, having written ‘AgileFrame® Understanding multifaceted project approaches for successful project management’, he is also a non-executive director for the International Project Management Consortium and acts as an APM board member for the WESSEX region.
